sarebamail is the browser interface for your mailboxes on the mail server: messages from several mailboxes in one list, calendar and contacts, chat and calls with your colleagues – and, if you like, notifications on your PC.

What is touched outside the EU: notifications to iPhones go through Apple (APNs) – only as an empty wake-up call without sender or content. The mobile app is distributed through the App Store and Google Play. TLS certificates are issued by Let's Encrypt (USA), without user data. GIFs in chat are fetched by the server from Wikimedia. Mail to recipients elsewhere goes where their mailbox is.
What sarebamail does
Secure mail
Messages and attachments are encrypted and signed in the browser; you hold the key, not the operator. Recipients without an account read them via a link.
Calendar, contacts, tasks
Events, address book, tasks and notes straight from your mailbox – the same data as in other mail programs.
Chat and teams
One-to-one conversations, groups and teams with channels, also with people from other organisations on sarebamail.
Calls and video
Audio and video calls with up to four people, directly between the participants where possible. Every call appears in the history.
My files and Office
Storage with its own key per file, folders, versions, sharing within the organisation and links for outside. Edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations in the browser.
Sharing and delegation
Share folders with others, set up delegates and add shared mailboxes with one click.

Spam and virus filter in front of the mailbox: see held messages, release or reject them. Outgoing mail is checked before it leaves.
What is stored
- E-mails, events, contacts, tasks and notes stay on the mail server. sarebamail displays them and does not keep its own copy in its database.
- sarebamail stores your mail server password, your session and chat messages encrypted. This is encryption at rest, not end-to-end encryption.

Notifications on your PC
The sarebamail agent runs next to the clock on Windows, in the menu bar on macOS and in the desktop panel on Linux, and notifies you of new mail, chat messages and calls. It is paired with a code you confirm in the browser.
